8x runs creator marketing campaigns on LinkedIn. This explains what we collect from creators and from visitors to our clients' websites, why we collect it, and how to have it removed.

If you're a creator

When you create an account we store your email address and the public LinkedIn profile address you give us. From that public profile we collect information anyone can see without logging in: your name, headline, location, follower and connection counts, listed skills and current role, and your recent public posts together with their public engagement counts.

We do not collect anything behind a connection wall, we do not look up your phone number or personal email, and we never ask for your LinkedIn password. We cannot post as you.

To confirm a profile belongs to you, we ask you to place a short one-time code in your LinkedIn headline for a few minutes. We read your public profile once to check for it, then discard the code.

The browser extension

Installing our Chrome extension is optional, and nothing about being paid depends on it.

When you click Refresh my stats on your dashboard, the extension opens your own LinkedIn analytics page, reads the impression counts and post identifiers shown on it, and sends those to your 8x dashboard. That is the only information it reads and the only place it sends it.

It runs only when you ask it to, only from our site, and never on its own. It does not read your browsing history, does not run on other websites, stores nothing on your device, and takes no action on LinkedIn on your behalf. Removing the extension stops it completely; data already sent to your dashboard stays until you ask us to delete it.

If you visit a client's website through one of our links

Campaign links pass through us so a brand can tell which creator sent which visitors. When a link is used we record that it was used, when, and roughly where in the world the request came from. We do not store the visitor's IP address, and we do not build advertising profiles or sell anything to data brokers.

Some clients add our measurement script to their own site so they can count how many of those visits led to a sign-up or an enquiry. Where they do, the script records that an action happened and which campaign link preceded it. It does not read form contents, and it is not used to track people across unrelated websites.

Who sees it

Brands running a campaign see how their own campaign performed, per creator. Creators see their own numbers, never another creator's.

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to host the service, store data, and send email. They process data on our instructions only. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

Campaign and performance records are kept while we work with you and for a period afterwards, because they support invoices and payments already made. Verification codes are discarded as soon as they are used or expire. Accounts closed at your request are removed along with the profile information attached to them.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. If you are in the UK, EU or another region with comparable law, those are rights you have rather than favours we grant, and we will respond within the time the law allows.

A creator can remove the extension at any time, ask us to stop collecting from their profile, or close their account outright.
